Andrew A. Wilson, M.D.

Andrew A. Wilson, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist. He is a native of Georgia and was born in Athens. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biological Sciences at Mississippi State University where he was also a pitcher on the baseball team. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, MS. After medical school, Dr. Wilson completed his internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Ophthalmology at the prestigious Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City, OK. Dr. Wilson has been trained in the latest techniques in cataract and glaucoma surgery, as well as surgery of the eyelids and treatment of diabetes and macular degeneration. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

My wife, Elna, and I have three children. My wife played tennis at Mississippi State and we met through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes while in college. She is originally from Namibia, and we have been married since 2009. I was born in Athens, GA but grew up in Columbus, GA.

I have been a big Georgia football fan my entire life and moving to Athens has been a dream of mine for a long time.
